CLUBTAN’S 8 RADIANT TANNING HABITS

TANNING RESPONSIBLY

By incorporating these eight simple habits into your tanning routine, you’ll not only achieve a beautiful tan but also look after your skin’s well-being. Thank you for entrusting your tanning journey to CLUBTAN.

CLUBTAN’S 8 RADIANT TANNING HABITS

  1. Prepare your canvas: Before tanning, ensure your skin is free from cosmetics and perfume. Perfume residues can lead to unwanted skin discoloration, so a clean canvas is essential for an even tan. And don’t forget to wear your trusty tanning goggles for eye protection.
  2. Start slowly: Build up your tan gradually – over exposure is unnecessary. You can achieve a gorgeous golden glow after just 8-10 sessions, so pace yourself to avoid overdoing it.
  3. Limit sun exposure: We recommend a maximum of 50 sun treatments per year, whether in our CLUBTAN shops or under the outdoor sun. Moderation is key to maintaining healthy skin.
  4. Utilise our skin scanner: Before each session, use our state-of-the-art skin scanner to assess your skin type and follow the recommendations given.
  5. Consultation: If you’re taking medication or have a special skin condition like liver spots, it’s wise to consult with a doctor before tanning to ensure it’s safe and suitable for you.
  6. Remove jewellery: Jewellery can trigger allergic reactions, so remember to remove it before you start your tanning session.
  7. Hydrate inside and out: Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water before and after your tanning sessions. Moisturising your skin regularly helps extend the life of your tan and keeps it looking radiant and healthy.
  8. Tan sabbatical: Give your skin a breather by taking a break from tanning for about four weeks each year. This allows your skin to rejuvenate and recover from extended exposure, maintaining its health and vitality in the long run.
BE CAREFUL: UNDERSTANDING UV RADIATION

Moderate exposure benefits: Moderate UV radiation helps create a protective barrier in the skin. UV-B rays stimulate melanin production, offering protection to the cell nucleus.

Gradual tanning: A tanning bed visit can prepare your skin for a holiday in the sun, but it’s crucial to proceed slowly and avoid sunburn. Developing a basic tan typically takes 3-4 weeks, with SPF 4-8 protection. We recommend tanning once or twice a week during this period.

COLOR VARIATION: EMBRACING GENETIC DIVERSITY

Genetics: The speed and intensity you can tan are genetically determined by our skin colour. And the ability of your skin cells to produce pigment hinges on these genetic factors.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Most often, white spots appear on the shoulder blades or above the buttocks and are caused by the body’s pressure when lying in the tanning bed. This pressure restricts blood circulation to these areas, preventing them from tanning as they don’t receive the required oxygen for the process.

TIP: To ensure a tan in these areas, turn onto your stomach halfway through the tanning session.

If you’ve gotten too much sun, use a good aftersun lotion or aloe vera cream to moisturize and care for your skin. Avoid sunbathing until your skin is fully healed. Once recovered, start tanning gradually to maintain or rebuild your tan.
