UNLOCKING UV LIGHT
When your skin is exposed to ultraviolet rays (UV light), it starts to take on a bronzed or reddish hue. This change happens whether you’re in the outdoor sun or soaking up rays in a CLUBTAN shop. There are three types of UV radiation: UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C.
NAVIGATING UV RADIATION
UV RADIATION
- UV-C rays are extremely harmful and can cause severe skin damage, but they hardly reach the Earth’s surface, as they are almost completely absorbed by the ozone layer in the atmosphere. In CLUBTAN’s shops, you are also not exposed to UV-C radiation.
- UV-B rays: UV-B rays stimulate vitamin D production, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and diabetes. While milder than UC-C rays, they can still cause sunburn if your skin is overexposed.
- UV-A rays: UV-A rays are responsible for a beautiful, bronzed glow. Typically, they don’t cause sunburn unless you have sensitive skin.
TANNING BED ASSURANCE

SUNLIGHT'S DUAL NATURE: BALANCING THE BENEFITS AND RISKS
Life-giving power: The sun’s light is the essence of life on Earth, affecting everything from our mood to our health. However, with a scorching surface temperature of 5,500 degrees Celsius, we must recognise the positive and negative effects.
Enjoy with awareness: While sunlight uplifts our spirits and triggers essential hormone production, excessive exposure can lead to various health issues. It’s all about finding a balance between enjoying the sun’s benefits and safeguarding against its risks.
OPTIMAL COMPROMISE/HAPPY MEDIUM: NAVIGATING SAFER SUN PRACTICES
Skin wisdom: Everyone’s tolerance to sunlight is different, which makes it important to know what type of skin you have. Understanding this and establishing healthy sun habits is key to minimising the risk of skin cancer.
UV understanding: The nuances of UV light can be tricky to navigate, but with awareness, you can make informed decisions. Tanning beds at CLUBTAN adhere to strictest EU standards, ensuring controlled exposure comparable to the Mediterranean’s midday sun.
Personal caution: Certain individuals, like those prone to sunburn as children or with a history of skin cancer, should approach tanning bed use with caution or avoid it altogether.
Age requirement: Remember, tanning bed use is reserved for those over 18 years old.
WARNING: PROCEED WITH CAUTION
Risks of tanning bed use: The use of tanning beds increases the risk of melanoma and skin cancer. Additionally, tanning bed use can lead to permanent damage to the eyes and skin, accelerating the aging process. Early and frequent tanning bed use heightens these risks, emphasizing the importance of caution and moderation.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Most often, white spots appear on the shoulder blades or above the buttocks and are caused by the body’s pressure when lying in the tanning bed. This pressure restricts blood circulation to these areas, preventing them from tanning as they don’t receive the required oxygen for the process.
TIP: To ensure a tan in these areas, turn onto your stomach halfway through the tanning session.
If you’ve gotten too much sun, use a good aftersun lotion or aloe vera cream to moisturize and care for your skin. Avoid sunbathing until your skin is fully healed. Once recovered, start tanning gradually to maintain or rebuild your tan.
